Boss Lady Mandy

Mandy is a mother of four children, a 7 California state records holder with a USPA masters total, a degree in psychology, and is a body positive/neutral strength coach. She grew up in the gym and has extensive knowledge and experience with intuitive movement and eating. She is a USPA Certified Coach, USPA State Ref, Powerlifting United Ref and opened The Resistance Gym in February 2020.

Coach Mat

Mat is a dedicated coach and dog dad of three. He has a degree in Exercise Science and a passion for helping people discover their strength within, all while having fun. He believes that everybody, regardless of size shape or ability can be strong. Mat specializes in functional strength training, drawing inspiration from his athletic background and his love of Strongman, Highland Games, and Powerlifting. Whether he’s coaching clients on lifting technique, building explosive power, or mastering heavy carries, Mat’s approach is rooted in the philosophy that strength is universal. His mission is to make strength training an empowering endeavor for all.

Coach Abby

Abby coaches our Monday and Friday classes, has coached youth strength based sports for 10 years and has successfully been competing in powerlifting for 6 years! Abby is a USPA Ref and has a passion for sharing her love of lifting with her clients and teammates.

Coach Aizaiah

Coach Aizaiah teaches our Saturday Strength Class. They are a nutrition student with experience in powerlifting and calisthenics. Coach Aizaiah loves to help their clients find ways to access fitness that aligns with their lifestyle. They focus on compassion with ones body and specialize in movement accessibility. Coach Aizaiah loves working with others in the queer community and individuals in ALL bodies.
